Ministry Supervisor-UrbanPromise Toronto
As a support-based ministry position, the primary responsibility during the first three months is developing a team of financial and prayer partners to sustain your ministry role, with full salary provided by the organization throughout this period. Applicants are required to submit a cover letter and resume, in addition to a letter from their church leadership affirming their call to urban ministry, and provide three additional professional references.
During the first three months of employment, candidates will:
- Share your calling and the mission of UrbanPromise Toronto with churches and individuals
- Meet one-on-one with potential supporters
- Invite ongoing monthly prayer and financial partnerships
- Regularly communicate with supporters to share updates and ministry progress
- Build long-term, Christ-centered relationships
Training, mentoring, and practical tools to equip the new staff person for effective support development will be provided. Direct ministry responsibilities at site will expand as a sustainable level of monthly support is established.
Key Ministry Responsibilities
1. Ministry Leadership
- Build meaningful relationships with children, youth, and families in the Toronto Community Housing neighbourhood of Warden Woods
- Engage local schools and community centres through outreach and service
- Lead planning and delivery of core programs, including:
- Daily after-school program (school year)
- 6-week summer day camp
- March Break program
- Occasional weekend excursions and retreats
- Ensure all programs follow UPT policies, safety standards, and public health requirements
- Use your gifts and passions to serve the community and advance the ministry’s mission
2. Leadership & Discipleship
- Model strong personal leadership and spiritual maturity
- Recruit, train, and lead Program Leaders, StreetLeaders, volunteers, and short-term missionaries
- Clarify roles, set objectives, and lead regular team meetings
- Build partnerships with local churches and community organizations
- Support organizational fundraising initiatives
3. Administration
- Maintain participant and staff records
- Oversee systems to ensure smooth ministry operations
- Track and report program statistics, expenses, and required documentation to the Ministry Director.

Occasional meetings are held at the main office, #502-685 Sheppard Ave E., North York.
This position is currently open. The salary for this position is $42,000 a year with benefits.
