We believe Canadians want to be part of something meaningful. When invited with clarity, creativity, and trust, they respond with generosity.

As VP, Growth & Engagement, you’ll be the architect of that invitation — building the strategies, stories, and systems that inspire thousands more Canadians to join the journey of community transformation. This is an executive leadership role with real ambition behind it. — growing monthly giving revenue, increasing the annual number of givers and maintaining an industry leading donor retention rate across all segments.

ABOUT THE JOB

As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you’ll lead a multi-disciplinary team spanning fundraising, marketing, communications, and public engagement. You’ll partner across departments, drive organizational strategy and culture, advocate for your team’s resources and development, and serve as a public face for the organization. This is a role for someone who is as comfortable shaping strategy in the boardroom as they are inspiring a major donor over coffee.

Fundraising & Revenue Growth

  • Provide strategic oversight for a comprehensive fundraising program — acquiring, cultivating, acknowledging, and upgrading donors across all giving levels – driven by a thriving monthly giving program, compelling donor offers, and bold acquisition strategies that grow both revenue and loyalty.

Public Engagement & Communications

  • Ensure every FH Canada supporter experience — from first touch to long-term relationship — is positive, inclusive, and compelling.
  • Support internal teams with visual design and content tools, protecting the brand while helping colleagues achieve their goals.
  • Serve as an organizational spokesperson and ensure compliance with Cooperation Canada’s code of ethics and anti-racism framework.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Serve as an executive leader who models FH Canada’s values and faith-driven culture, nurturing shared purpose across the team.
  • Foster a healthy, inclusive, and mission-aligned department through cross-functional collaboration and open communication.

WHO YOU ARE

You’re a mission-driven fundraising leader who knows how to grow revenue and build lasting donor relationships. You bring strategic vision and executional discipline — and you understand that inspiring generosity is both an art and a science.

  • You’re energized by ambitious goals. An aggressive monthly giving target doesn’t intimidate you — it motivates you.
  • You lead with empathy and accountability, and have proven ability to build teams that are high-performing and deeply human.
  • You’re a natural storyteller who understands that the right message, to the right person, at the right moment can change everything.
  • You thrive in a faith-based environment and are aligned with FH Canada’s values and Statement of Faith.
  • You’re as comfortable in a boardroom as you are on a field visit in a partner community.
  • You bring a creative, entrepreneurial spirit to your work — always asking “what if we tried this?”

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership in building and scaling multi-disciplinary teams across marketing, communications, development, and public engagement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; Master’s preferred (nonprofit management, marketing, or communications). Commensurate experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising or advancement within a non-profit environment including securing major gifts. Experience in the humanitarian and international development sector would be an asset.
  • Strong experience in digital marketing and fundraising strategies that drive donor acquisition and retention.
